MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: | Numatic International are looking for a Supervisor to work in the Mould Shop, this role is on Continental shift pattern working 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off. As a Mould Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering excellence in terms of safety, quality, productivity and customer service through the effective leadership of the Mould Shop operative team. You will be a proactive individual and provide support to the Mould Shop Manager with a particular focus on HR issues, quality and improvement. Within your role, you will be the first port of call for all staff on shift with regard to their welfare and performance. You will possess strong communication skills and have the ability to identify areas of continuous improvement in an injection moulding environment. Responsibilities To deliver safety, quality, productivity and customer service through effective management of the Mould Shop team leaders and operatives, Ensure the appropriate use of information and the control of materials through the section, with a clear focus to key measures such as EHS, quality, productivity, on time delivery and continuous improvements. Managing the Mould Shop’s commitment to BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Standard To provide day to day support to the Mould Shop Manager with a particular responsibility for HR issues, quality and improvement To coordinate workplace organisation processes Follow the Supervisor’s Standard work document and through formal and informal audits/checks Carry out Risk Assessments for all tasks and ensure you are monitoring, maintaining and updating these regularly Recording and investigating incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with the Company Policy Ensuring all safety checks are carried out on the injection moulding presses, ancillary equipment (including jigs, fixtures, tooling benches, chairs etc.), platforms and steps at the intervals stated in accordance with the company policy Ensuring there is a first off for each production run and it has been checked against the master first off and is fit for purpose To be able to identify defects and know how to act accordingly Managing the use of lifting equipment under the LOLER regulations Managing the safety of the tool changes, including working at height, clamping mould tools, hot materials and low pressures and speeds to purge Problem solving and finding the root cause of quality issues and put measures in place to eliminate them Managing the scrap input into Mattec, ensuring it is accurate and in real time Monitoring and auditing SOPs, OPLs, and BOMs to ensure we are currently following the best method to undertake the task; review, report and change as necessary. Managing the data collection of reworks, including the number and description of the fault, corrective action and time taken with the view to eliminate it Achieving scrap targets and working towards reducing/eliminating them Monitoring and auditing the moulding, the tool change and sub assembly processes in order to achieve efficiency, run to correct cycle times and increase OEE Managing & reporting any faults of tools & machines or site maintenance within the SRF on SharePoint Manage operatives and Team Leaders in injection moulding Setting SMART targets for all staff (Leading Hands and Tool Setters) Lead Continuous Improvement and as part of a team, proactively seek new and improve methods of working to increase efficiency in the overall moulding process |
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: | About you: Educated to at least level 3 ideally in an engineering or manufacturing discipline. Desirable; Qualification or industry experience in injection moulding Experience of leading a team Knowledge and experience of planning and implementing continuous improvements in a manufacturing or moulding environment. Experience of coaching and mentoring a team. Experienced in using Mattec Experience of working within high volume manufacturing departments A good understanding of EHS, Quality improvement requirements and of Continuous Improvement |
