Job Overview: Our client, a successful calibration & measurement Laboratory are seeking an Electrical Calibration Engineer due to exciting company growth.

A highly recognised and industry known business, a successful UKAS Accredited Calibration and Testing Laboratory with accreditations in Electrical, Dimensional, Pressure, Temperature, Torque and CMM Metrology / Inspection Laboratory.

They have an impressive customer base and operate a technically advanced calibration laboratory with niche equipment.

Now commanding over 50 professionals within the company, they moved to a new purpose-built facility in 2020 and due to business demand they will need to grow further by 25%.  Equally they are constantly investing in new measurement & calibration equipment and technology.

Role:

  • This position will suit someone who has the relevant qualifications or experience, be they a Service Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer etc.  Our client is seeking someone with a professional approach to work, someone who is punctual, conscientious, and enthusiastic and has a flexible and practical approach to work.
  • The position will allow an individual to use their experiences, skills and develop their passion for measurement and instrumentation. Working within a large technical scope spanning laboratory-based calibration and on-site calibration at the customer’s premises.
  • The Electrical Calibration Engineer is a multi-disciplined role where the requirements will include electrical, pressure, temperature and dimensional calibrations to be performed.
  • The Electrical Calibration Engineer will calibrate electrical, pressure, temperature and dimensional type measuring instrumentation to specific parameters and in line with industry standards onsite at customers facilities
  • Accurately recording results and in line with industry standards.
  • Work with the Technical Management Team in improving efficiencies and technical opportunities for onsite calibration and testing
  • Comply with company H&S guidelines

Qualifications/experience required

Skills/ Attributes:

  • You will have completed a relevant electrical / electronic apprenticeship
  • Relevant electrical / electronic qualifications
  • HNC or higher qualification in a relevant electrical / electronic discipline desirable
  • Experience in calibrating or the use of electrical measuring instrumentation
  • Must have previous experience of calibrating test equipment, Calibrators, 18th Edition Test Equipment, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMM’s, Clamp Meters, Ammeters, Volt Meters, PAT Testers, Insulation Testers, and other general-purpose test equipment
  • Conversant with BS EN ISO 17025 or other relevant quality standards
  • Knowledge of Fluke MetCal automated calibration software
  • Knowledge of Pressure & Temperature Oven calibration is desirable, although not essential
  • Ability to perform minor electrical repairs and adjustments to equipment
  • Must be PC literate.
  • Be able to work with minimum of supervision.
  • Hold a full driving license.
