Main responsibilities

Job Overview: Working alongside our client, a specialist injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an Injection Moulding Setter to join their established production team and support continued business growth.

Role:

  • As an Injection Moulding Setter, you must have several years’ experience with setting, conditioning, maintenance & process optimisation of injection moulding machines working with a wide range of materials.
  • As an Injection Moulding Setter, you will be expected to ensure the continuous running of the machine at the optimum cycle time to produce quality products.
  • The role of an Injection Moulding Setter is to fulfil all aspects of machinery tool changes, from hanging the tool and securing the tool in the machine through to the use of programming software and setting up the robots to provide the optimum cycle time.

Responsibilities.

  • As Injection Moulding Setter it is your responsibility to set and monitor injection moulding machines ranging from 50-900T.
  • In the role of Injection Moulding Setter you will be required to perform plastic mould tool changes to conform with safe working practices and procedures.
  • As an Injection Moulding Setter you must ensure machines are set to make products to the correct quality specifications and costed cycle times in line with the production plan requirements.
  • Modify processes where necessary, to achieve maximum production rates and quality standards.
  • To be able to work well within the technical injection moulding setting, processing & optimisation team.
  • Contribute to the company’s continuous improvement initiatives and, where appropriate, identify areas of potential improvement to the Operations & Quality Manager.
  • Set up of ancillaries in line with control documents including optimisation of polymer and masterbatch dosing equipment, material dryers and robot take out controls
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and trouble shooting
  • To ensure injection moulding processes can achieve targeted scrap and efficiency levels, on new and existing products.
  • To ensure Health & Safety rules are maintained with your own work area and demonstrate a duty of care to colleagues, visitors, contractors or anyone else on site.
  • Complete and update necessary paperwork
  • Obtain and move specified tools to workstations using appropriate equipment

Qualifications/experience required

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years injection moulding experience
  • Recognised injection moulding qualification is essential
  • Experience of working with different mould types that
  • Good knowledge of processing and moulding analytical tools
  • Robotic programming knowledge would be an advantage
  • Plastic raw material knowledge
  • Willingness to learn and progress within the company
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Strong problem-solving skills
