Main responsibilities

Job Overview: Working alongside our client, a specialist injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an Injection Moulding Process Technician to join their team to support continued business growth and expansion.

Role:

• The position of Injection Moulding Process Technician will work closely with the Team Leader, Quality, CI and Production Departments to facilitate NPI, In-sourcing and Process Improvement projects.
• As Injection Moulding Process Technician, you will provide dedicated process, technical and continuous improvement support to the mould shop team and wider business.

Responsibilities.

• As Injection Moulding Process Technician, it is your responsibility to ensure the optimisation of machines and equipment to achieve continuous production.
• In the role of Injection Moulding Process Technician, you will be responsible for championing process and procedural standardisation within the Mould Shop.
• Carry out mould and colour changes. To move materials to and from the machine when required and as directed by the supervisor.
• Assist with the maximisation of machine efficiency and utilisation - Routine maintenance and repair monitoring
• Conduct mould trials and ensure tools and mouldings (new or modified) meet acceptable production standards.
• Work with the Toolroom to support tooling TPM, development, and upgrades.
• Liaise with Maintenance to ensure machine TPM schedules are adequately implemented and adhered to.
• Validate the accuracy of BOMs and Routings and expedite their update where necessary.
• Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained in the moulding area - Have a proactive approach to quality and ensure adherence to procedures.
• Work with a Continuous Process Improvement attitude - Liaise with other departments to ensure that the movement of material to/from the stores and production is transacted correctly and on time.
• Ensure Process and Quality documentation is present, accurate and adhered to.
• Work closely with Team Leader and Supervisors to ensure production KPIs are achieved.
• Is expected to maintain a professional working relationship with all colleagues, whilst promoting a commitment to Total Quality and Continuous Improvement.

Qualifications/experience required

Experience:  

• Minimum 5 years of injection moulding experience
• Recognised Level 3 injection moulding qualification
• Ability to program moulding machines
• Ability to conduct new tool trials and process optimisation
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Understanding of Health and Safety legislation requirements
