Main responsibilities

Job Overview: Our client, a successful injection moulding manufacturer, has retained our services to search for a Toolmaker to join their team.

Overview:

• Reporting directly to the Toolroom Supervisor, the successful Toolmaker will be predominantly involved in the highly-skilled, complex and specialist detailed work of maintaining the engineering tooling used to produce components, products and assemblies
• The Toolmaker will be required to apply a broad range of activities including the interpretation of Engineering drawings and technical instructions and the use of hand, machine and automated computer-controlled machine tools and measuring equipment

Role:

• The Toolmaker will carry out proactive maintenance on moulding tools that come from production and log them in the system
• You will be preparing new Mould Tools for Production
• Liaise with setter’s overs issues with the mould tool
• Investigate issues to find root causes passing information back to the design department and management so issues can be avoided in future
• Logging of any concerns, issues and repairs
• The Toolmaker will maintain standards of Housekeeping and Health & Safety
• Working in a systematic fashion following any instructions available
• Maintain spares and equipment to avoid lengthy repairs time
• Maintain working area to a high standard. Working to 5S’s
• Any other reasonable Engineering duties required

Qualifications/experience required

Experience requirements:

• You must have completed a relevant Toolmaking apprenticeship
• You must have a minimum of 5 years experience of in the Maintenance, repair and modification of Injection Mould Tools
• You must be experienced with manual machining using miller, lathes and surface grinders
• Experience with TIG / Mig welding, EDM, CNC milling and Wire eroding is desirable
• IOSH training, Six sigma training and 5S training are desirable
• You should be computer literate with the ability to use Outlook, Excel, and Word
