As an Injection Moulding Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining efficient production through the safe setup, optimisation, and troubleshooting of injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment. You’ll be responsible for tool changes, process optimisation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

We are a well-established, family-owned injection moulding business with over 50 years of experience. We’re currently seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Technician with supervisory experience to join our growing team.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you’ll work within a small, dedicated team in a busy mouldshop, operating machines ranging from 60T to 500T. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Technician to advance their career in a supportive and innovative environment.
Role responsibilities
- Perform tool changes safely and efficiently in line with company procedures
- Optimise and monitor moulding processes to meet scrap and cycle time targets
- Conduct material and tool trials, recording and reviewing results
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strip and assemble mould tools, including basic repairs (engineering background preferred)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with technical and production teams to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with Health & Safety requirements
- For senior-level roles: supervise shift activities, ensure smooth handovers, and provide technical leadership

Qualifications/experience required
- Proven experience in injection moulding setup within a manufacturing environment
- Recognised injection moulding qualification (e.g. IMT, City & Guilds, or equivalent) preferred
- Strong understanding of a wide range of commodity and engineering thermoplastics
- Skilled in troubleshooting, process optimisation, and maintaining quality standards
- Experience with material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, crane) advantageous
- Expected experience of robots and automation
- For supervisory roles: prior experience managing production staff and shift operations
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Ideally, the candidate should be local
