Injection Moulding Design:
From an initial design brief and by using the latest CAD & mould simulation software, we can turn your idea into a digital 3D and 2D design. With our expertise in tooling and moulding we design and develop your parts with the aim of creating a part that is fit for manufacture without compromising design intent.
Injection Mould Tool Design:
With our extensive knowledge of injection mould tooling, we have the in-house software and capabilities to provide "stand-alone" injection mould tooling designs to meet customers specifications. We can also complete DFM reports (design for manufacture) & mould simulation analyses to highlight any issues related to the design of plastic mouldings, therefore we can recommend design changes to optimize cycle times, quality of mouldings & tooling.
We source high precision, high quality injection mould tools for a wide variety of product applications, including Automotive, Aerospace, Medical and consumer products. Ranging from prototype tooling to production tools manufactured from a range of high grade, hard wearing steels that are suitable to the specific requirements. All tools are managed by Liondell from start to finish. At tool design stage we contribute our technical expertise and know-how by providing insight into the needs of the client and to assist the tool designers in achieving a quality tool and product. All tooling includes a shot-life warranty that is fully supported by our approved UK based toolmakers.
When new tooling is completed, we arrange for tool trials to be conducted in-house or in local trial shops to prove out the tooling function and moulding process. Usually Liondell staff are on-site to assist with the trials to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that the clients expectations are met. If any corrective action is necessary, corrective action (PFU) reports are completed to improve the results at the following trial. ISIR reports are submitted after every trial. All of our suppliers own or have access to CM Machines and other inspection equipment necessary to produce accurate reports.
Depending on the customer requirements prototype or low volume production parts can potentially be 3D printed, vacuum cast or injection moulded. We work with Rapid Prototyping companies in the UK and China who are able to assess and advise on most cost-effective methods to produce parts of the correct quality. Our toolmaking partners will typically be able to mould low-volume production in-house which will be quality checked and managed on a door-to-door basis.
