Following a prolonged period of growth, we are entering an exciting phase of planned expansion of our technical and field engineering services. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team and take an influential role within our engineering department. As the Senior Product Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the continued success and development of our component design, specifications and surface technology.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead the Design and Product Development activities, ensuring that the components we supply are optimised for of clients’ unique process and production requirements.
  • Product design development from functional design specification to manufacturing drawings.
  • Collaborate with our own production staff and external supply partners to optimise manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our quality management processes, reduce lead times, and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure successful and smooth transition from sales to supply.
  • Provide on-site customer support, including carrying out component wear monitoring and measuring service.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence across the business.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team.

Qualifications/experience required

  • Bachelor's degree (HND with experience) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong background in working with accurate tolerancing and engineering drawings with 2D and 3D drafting software.
  • Experience gained in a machinery component manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of production processes in plastics, rubber or related industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
