As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing new injection‑moulding machines at customer sites, as well as completing routine servicing, diagnostics and repairs to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for experienced Service Engineers or Maintenance Engineers who are looking to transition into a field‑based role and have a background in all‑electric injection‑moulding technology. The role is home‑based, with candidates ideally located in the Midlands or the South of England.
Role responsibilities
- Install injection moulding equipment at customer sites, ensuring correct setup and configuration in line with FANUC guidelines
- Provide remote and on‑site technical support, diagnosing and resolving issues with injection moulding machines, auxiliary equipment and control systems
- Identify post‑sales revenue opportunities across Service, Training and Spare Parts packages
- Carry out routine maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, adjustments and component replacement to maintain equipment reliability
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, coordinating with internal teams to source replacement parts and implement upgrades
- Deliver training to customer personnel covering operation, maintenance, and safety procedures for injection moulding equipment
- Maintain accurate service documentation, including service reports, parts usage and equipment history within internal systems
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of technical issues
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency improvements within customer moulding operations (subject to experience)

Qualifications/experience required

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience with injection‑moulding machinery or other plastic‑processing equipment
- Hands‑on experience with pneumatic and electrical systems, ideally including all‑electric moulding technology
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety and adherence to safe working practices
- Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally overseas when required
Desirable Requirements
- ONC (or equivalent) in engineering; mechanical engineering, industrial electrics, maintenance engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working with all‑electric machinery and familiarity with cartesian and 6‑axis robotic systems
- Valid overhead crane certification
- Previous customer‑facing experience with strong communication skills
- Background in a similar maintenance role
- Ability to work autonomously with strong self‑discipline to manage tasks and projects through to completion within agreed timeframes
