Our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer part of a wider company group has retained our services to search for a Mould Shop Manager join their team.

  • This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking injection moulding manufacturer of components and assemblies servicing a wide range of industries. This role would suit an Injection Moulding Supervisor, Lead Moulding Engineer or Setter Supervisor who has prior experience of Injection Mould Setting, Optimisation & Conditioning, and with good people management & skills development experience. 
  • The role of Mould Shop Manager is to lead all aspects of moulding & tooling requirements across operations, whilst promoting and practicing the core values of the business.
  • The successful candidate MUST have previous experience within injection moulding manufacturing with good technical knowledge of injection moulding machinery, ancillary equipment and processes

Role responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for a team of Injection Moulding Setters, whilst remaining hands on you will oversee tool maintenance, health and safety along with planning and performing all preventative maintenance and planned inspections.
  • Ensure that all moulding tools are clean and serviced maintaining efficiency
  • Represent Moulding & Tooling in Production meetings
  • Tooling Management - assigning jobs to moulding technicians timely and inline with Operational priorities
  • Organise off site tool repairs - monitoring efficiency
  • Diagnose tool faults with team, support strip and rebuild in line with Operational demands
  • Delivery of agreed KPI targets and business objectives - Tooling and Production
  • Plan all equipment installations and commissioning - update all work processes, for new and existing
  • Support Operations initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and quality standards are maintained
  • Ensure all HR matters are dealt with in line with policy and where complex in nature supported by the wider HR function

Qualifications/experience required

  • Plastic Injection Moulding experience is essential
  • Tool maintenance experience would be highly advantageous
  • Previous management experience or the desire to develop into a management role
  • Ability to work in a team      
  • Self-motivated individual with a willingness to achieve KPI targets
