Further to ongoing sustained business growth, we are working closely with one of our manufacturing partners to appoint a Production Engineer to join their team.

Role responsibilities

  • As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for optimising manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness
  • The role of Production Engineer bridges engineering design and production, ensuring products are manufactured as required and in line with quality standards
  • The successful Production Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and optimising production processes and workflows
  • Support production teams with technical expertise to resolve process issues
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing daily operations
  • Analysis of production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and quality issues
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement projects across the plant
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, SOP’s and work instructions
  • Support new product introductions and process validations
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment and material issues in real time
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Implement immediate process improvements along with long-term improvements

Qualifications/experience required

  • Experience of small batch production, not continuous production lines
  • Time served toolmaking or engineering-based apprenticeship is an advantage (must be practical)
  • Experience in jig design and manufacture
  • Basic CAD and 3D printing, an advantage but not essential
  • Creative and innovative thinking
  • 5+ years’ experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and results-driven
