Working alongside our client, a manufacturer of plastic and rubber caps, we are looking for a Production Support Engineer to join their team.
Company overview
- A key member of the production team, the Production Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Production Manager in achievement of all operational targets
- You will be responsible for maintaining all plant and equipment in a safe condition, including preventive maintenance of the plant and building, alongside providing new tooling through manufacture of procurement and assisting with securing accurate quotations for materials, plant and equipment
- This is a varied and fast paced position allowing the successful candidate to be involved in a range of production operations
Role responsibilities
- Ensure all equipment and machinery is in safe working condition
- Produce custom tooling to order and within agreed timescale
- Reacting to breakdowns/failures
- Development of TPM system
- Continual maintenance of plant and equipment
- Maintenance of building
- Involvement in IMS focused improvement culture
- Effective performance management and development of direct reports
- Training development of Engineering apprentice
- Working as part of the Engineering and Production team to achieve corporate objectives
- Maintaining cost effective relationships with suppliers
- Maintain customer satisfaction through prompt and effective response to customer requests

Qualifications/experience required
- Experience of working within a manufacturing or production environment
- Qualified within an engineering discipline with the ability to operate engineering machinery safely (lathes, milling, welding, fabrication, hydraulics & pneumatics)
- Experience with continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to achieve targets under pressure and within changing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Abrasive wheels certification
- Ability to work using own initiative
