We are now looking for a Factory Manager to take responsibility for the effective day-to-day planning and management of our injection moulding manufacturing facility.

This is not a hands-on setter/operator role. It is a planning-led, people-focused and improvement-driven leadership position. The successful candidate will bring structure, rhythm and accountability to production, ensuring the right people, machines, tools, materials and priorities come together to deliver reliable factory performance.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the management team, you will play a key role in the continued development of Agentdraw Plastics’ manufacturing capability. You will manage production planning, organise shifts, support and develop people, improve factory processes and contribute to decisions around future machinery, equipment and investment.

Role responsibilities

As Factory Manager, you will be responsible for planning and managing day-to-day production across the manufacturing facility. You will ensure production activity is properly scheduled, resourced and communicated, while driving practical improvements in efficiency, workflow, accountability and performance.

You will work with the MD and senior team to improve how the factory operates today, while helping develop the capability needed for tomorrow.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage day-to-day production activity across the injection moulding facility.
• Organise shifts, labour, priorities and resources to meet production requirements.
• Ensure production schedules are realistic, visible, communicated and followed.
• Manage and support production personnel, including team leaders, supervisors and shift-based staff where applicable.
• Improve communication between production, tooling, quality, engineering, sales/customer service and senior management.
• Identify production bottlenecks, planning weaknesses and process inefficiencies.
• Lead practical factory improvements in layout, workflow, housekeeping, handovers, reporting and operating discipline.
• Monitor production performance, including output, downtime, scrap, labour utilisation, schedule adherence and on-time delivery.
• Support a culture of accountability, safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to machinery, automation, ancillary equipment and factory investment decisions.
• Help develop the manufacturing facility in line with the continued growth of Agentdraw Plastics.
• Provide clear reporting to the MD and management team on factory performance, priorities, constraints and improvement actions.

Qualifications/experience required

We are looking for a credible manufacturing leader who understands that good production management is built before the shift starts: through planning, communication, resource control and clear priorities.

You may already be a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager within injection moulding or a closely related technical manufacturing environment.

You should be comfortable leading people, challenging weak processes, making decisions and working closely with senior management. You do not need to be the person setting machines, but you do need enough manufacturing understanding to ask the right questions, spot problems early and earn the respect of the factory team.

Essential experience

• Experience managing production, factory operations or manufacturing teams.
• Strong planning, scheduling and organisational ability.
• Experience leading people in a manufacturing environment.
• A practical understanding of production flow, labour planning, output, quality, downtime and delivery performance.
• Confidence working with senior management and communicating clearly across departments.
• Ability to identify and implement practical factory improvements.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how factory performance affects customers, cost and business growth.

Desirable experience

• Experience in plastic injection moulding.
• Knowledge of mould tools, polymers, machine capacity, automation or ancillary equipment.
• Experience working with quality-led manufacturing systems.
• Lean manufacturing, 5S, OEE or continuous improvement experience.
• Experience contributing to machinery or capital investment decisions.
