Working exclusively alongside our client, an established high profile global manufacturer and supplier of injection moulding machinery and bespoke automation, to source a Business Development Manager to drive their new machine sales in Ireland.

  • Exceptional job opportunity working for the UK and Ireland’s leading injection moulding machine tool and bespoke automation supplier to the industry
  • Candidates must be currently based in Ireland or looking to relocate to Ireland with extensive experience of selling into the Ireland injection moulding market
  • This position will suit a Technical Sales Manager or Business Development professional who MUST HAVE experience within plastic injection moulding machine tools, automation or ancillaries and proven served experience within injection moulding manufacturing

Role responsibilities

  • As Business Development Manager you will define long-term organisational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals related to sales products / services and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions
  • In the role of Business Development Manager you will make presentations on solutions and service that meet or predict their client’s future needs and move qualified leads through the sales pipeline
  • The New Machine Sales Business Development Manager will identify potential new customers, present to them and ultimately convert them into clients and continue to grow the business in the future.
  •  Plan calls as appropriate within the Irish market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities           
  • Identify potential clients and the decision makers within the client organization
  • Work to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for reaching sales targets
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion
  • Review sales contracts with the legal team if necessary to ensure they meet legal and corporate guidelines
  • Present new products and services with a view to enhancing existing relationships
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Attending industry functions such as association events & conferences, providing feedback and information on market and creative trends
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system
  • Conduct high level industry research to develop effective sales solutions

Qualifications/experience required

  • MUST HAVE experience within plastic injection moulding manufacturing and good proven commercial expertise
  • MUST HAVE proven Business Development or Technical Sales experience
  • OND / HNC level qualification minimum or equivalent in Polymer Engineering, Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or Engineering
  • A professional manner is essential both face to face and via telephone & email
  • Strong and effective negotiation skills
  • Experience within technical plastics or plastics engineering, preferably injection moulding or automation / ancillary related products
  • Self-motivated, reliable and must be able to work unsupervised
  • The right personality and sales experience are keys to the success of this important role within the company
  • Good experience in sales planning, sales forecasting, sales prospecting, diary management and CRM / Database management
  • Must have excellent and clear English communication skills
