Working alongside our client, a specialist injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Technical Sales Manager with proven experience in injection moulding to join their team to drive and support continued business growth.

  • This position will suit a Technical Sales Engineer / Manager or Business Development Manager with strong plastics industry background and experience across multiple industry sectors
  • The Technical Sales Manager will act as the key link between customers and the technical teams ensuring commercial success and customer satisfaction

Role responsibilities

  • As Technical Sales Manager you will be responsible for driving growth by identifying and developing new customer accounts, nurturing existing client relationships and providing technical solutions in line with the company’s manufacturing capabilities
  • In the role of Technical Sales Manager, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers, engineers and procurement teams
  • Identify and target new business opportunities across a broad range of market sectors
  • Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations and proposals that align with customer needs and manufacturing capabilities
  • Understand customer technical requirements and translate them into feasible injection moulding solutions
  • Offer guidance on material selection, mould design and production methods to optimize part quality and cost efficiency
  • Manage the sales process from initial inquiry to order, including RFQs, quotations, costings, and contract negotiations
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in polymer materials, injection moulding technologies, tooling innovations, and market dynamics

Qualifications/experience required

  • Candidates MUST HAVE proven experience of technical sales within injection moulding or plastics manufacturing
  • Demonstrable experience of growing business from existing customers, established contacts and new market opportunities
  • Good understanding of injection moulding processes, tooling and polymer materials
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (CAD) and engineering documentation
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Commercial acumen with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Comfortable working in a small team with a self motivated, proactive approach
  • Willingness and capability to grow into greater responsibilities within the role
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
