We require a dynamic, driven individual to take over key accounts, develop new business and take a leadership role within the commercial function of the business. Experience in the plastic industry would be distinct advantage. The role will be predominately field based/WFH but will include travel across the UK and Europe as required.

Role responsibilities

  • Management and development of existing accounts plus identification of new potential customers in a proactive professional manner
  • Ensure sales from current and new/potential customers achieve target contribution and sales tonnage levels.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams within the business to achieve customer solutions.
  • To identify and research appropriate new opportunities/markets/customers for Colour Tone Masterbatch.
  • To promote Colour Tone Masterbatch’s technical capabilities always pushing the company as a professional solution and technical service provider.
  • To liaise as required with customers on credit limits and financial matters.
  • To collate market information regarding both UK and global plastic industry activity and appropriately distribute this information internally to the Management Team.
  • To complete visit reports and any follow up actions required in a timely manner and keep the customer informed/updated on progression of enquiry activities
  • To contribute towards and ensure our Strategic plan is implemented/managed and updates are provided to the management team.
  • To meet agreed targets for the sales budget, customer visits and other activities
  • To maintain an overview of production, ie machine capacity that needs filling, material issues, etc.
  • To manage the Commercial Team appropriately to achieve the company goals.
  • To provide support to enhance the customer experience within the business.
  • To undertake training/other courses and attend meetings as required by the Company.

Qualifications/experience required

  • Proven track record in a similar commercial role ideally within the plastics industry
  • Organised with the ability to plan time effectively.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • A strong and effective communicator
  • Confident negotiator with ability to listen and understand the balance of price performance requirements required by the customer.
  • Proven track record of identifying new/existing customer opportunities.
  • Project/Strategic management experience which can be used to develop medium to long term sales opportunities.
  • Ability to build, maintain and develop customer/supplier relationships.
  • Ability to discuss and deliver technical solutions to customers.
  • Ability and experience in carrying out cost analysis and quote generation.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, target setting
  • Experience Managing and leading teams.
  • Languages – advantageous
