Role responsibilities
- In the role of Technical Sales Manager you will manage and grow a portfolio of existing customers whilst identifying and developing new business opportunities
- As Technical Sales Manager you will act as primary technical point of contact for customers during the course of new projects
- The successful Technical Sales Manager will build long term business relationships with customers through regular technical reviews and site visits
- Understanding customer requirements and developing them into manufacturable solutions
- Prepare detailed technical inputs for quotations including cycle times, material usage, tooling costs and secondary operations
- Work closely with cost estimators to ensure accurate and competitive pricing
- Collaborate with tooling, process and quality departments to develop optimal injection moulding solutions
- Support NPI from concept through to production launch
- Maintain up to date understanding of the market for potential new business opportunities
- Stay up to speed with injection moulding technologies, material solutions, automation and industry trends
- Representing the company at industry trade shows

Qualifications/experience required
- Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline an advantage
- Experience in technical sales or project engineering roles within plastics manufacturing an advantage but other manufacturing / engineering sectors considered
- Experience working directly with customers in an engineering / manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of injection moulding processes, tooling and materials. Other plastics manufacturing disciplines are also welcomed
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Commercial awareness
- Customer focused with a solution based selling approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple functions
