Working alongside our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Toolmaker to support continued business growth.

Company overview

  • This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Injection Mould Toolmaker to work within an established toolroom with manufacturing, servicing, repair and modification capabilities supporting the extensive production moulding facility.
  • As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, service and repair of injection mould tools from base components using handheld tools and machines as required.
  • The successful candidate should have extensive mould tool experience with the ability to use conventional toolroom machinery. 

Role responsibilities

  • Machining to a high standard on a range of toolroom machines
  • Responsible for the manufacture of full mould tooling and modular systems in steels and alloys to a high standard 
  • The assembly and fitting of tooling elements
  • Modifications and refurbishment of existing mould tooling
  • Servicing and repairs of mould tooling
  • Manufacture of jigs & fixtures to support the mould shop·            
  • Inspection of own work to a high standard
  • Accountable for quality of work produced

Qualifications/experience required

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working on injection mould tools is essential
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Ability to utilise standard toolroom machinery such as surface grinder, cylindrical grinder, manual lathes ad mills to a high standard
  • A knowledge of CAD CAM software such as Visi, AutoCAD and Solidworks would be advantageous
  • A knowledge of spark/wire erosion would be beneficial but not essential 
  • A knowledge of CMM inspection would be beneficial but not essential 
  • Good communication skills
  • Thoughtful and pragmatic approach to problem/breakdown situations
