The Merriott Group is a leading trade moulding company, producing technical mouldings in thermoset composite materials, by compression and injection processes, along with thermoplastic injection, with presses of 25t to 1,100t. Over 70 machines, producing part weights from 1g to over 10kgs.
Compression presses ranging from 25t to 450t, that take tools from 200mm cube to 1.5m*1.2m*.75m. We have some 28 compression presses, mainly Bipel, which we have updated with PLC control. Materials moulded are Phenolic, Melamine, SMC, DMC/BMC, and Epoxy. We also injection moulded Thermoset materials on a range of DST presses ranging from 30t to 300t, using Phenolic and Melamine materials. In addition, the 2 sites mould many Thermoplastic injection mouldings in a machine range from 25t to 1,100t. Presses are Engel, Sandretto, Arburg, Billon, Krauss Maffei, Negri Bossi and Boy.
Thermoset Compression Composite products for many industrial applications for Railway, Lighting, Electrical, metal replacement products, where cost savings are generated from moulded features in place of machined features in metal, along with weight savings, Engine Covers, MOD products and many other industrial/engineering components. WE have a wealth of knowledge in product design, tooling and process.
Thermoplastic Injection components for a wide diverse range of clients in many different industries, from air movement, electrical, personnel protection, fire control, lighting, laboratory equipment, automotive, and many more applications. We have experience in managing the tooling from source to final production, and with the support of in-house toolroom facilities undertake routine maintenance, refinements and modifications.
Assembly, routing, insertion, printing, ultra-sonic/vibration welding, post mould machining, by drilling, tapping, and milling.
Having the 2 facilities, in Somerset and Kent, enables us to provide a wealth of knowledge and experience in order to bring your design to production.
Being able to offer both Compression Thermoset Composite and Thermoplastic Injection moulding, enables our customers to consider both options and provides support in offering the best solution.
