What Is Rotational Moulding And How Do I Find Rotational Moulders?

For rotational moulding, liquid, or more commonly, powdered plastic, is poured into a hollow mould which is then heated. Once the material has melted, the mould is rotated through several planes so that the molten plastic spreads evenly before and during cooling and setting. It is a slow process but allows large and hollow components with thick wall sections to be produced.

Tooling costs are low relative to the size of the components, but piece price is high due to the length of the process and its labour-intensive nature.

Example products are industrial refuse bins, tanks and large ornamental pots.
